Custodia, Custody of the Holy Land

Webdesign and front-end development of the new version of the Custody of the Holy Land website, in collaboration with Christophe Leray (commanding the SPIP) :
- Creation of new design guidelines,
- xHTML/CSS/JS developement of static pages for SPIP integration.

An interesting project since it was a two-step intervention: I was first called to first “salvage” a faulty xHTML/CSS/JS development that had been done on a “new version”, and then to operate a complete design overhaul because the work done on the “new version” was actually less “polished” than the previous version…

So I got to work with Christophe, who was kind to think of calling me, in order to firstly get the xHTML/CSS/JS cleaned up, accessible and respectful of standards.
Then, I went on revamping the design guidelines (colors, layouts, etc) all the while being careful to limit modifications to the CSS while touching as less xHTML as possible.
Additional captivating constraint, the site has been translated in 14 languages, some of which are read from right to left!

I hope this “real” new version will be to your liking, I’ll be waiting impatiently for your comments!

Let’s finish this week in a flourish with this new reference which I’ve been dying to tell you about since I started working on it, and which I hope shall be a great omen for 2010 :)

I’ve been delighted to work again with Jacques Pyrat and Apsulis, after our first “6 hands” collaboration on the rSa’s website, and for the first time with Fabrice Coutant, on this site which different facets represented varying challenges.

So as it was there was three extranets, an editorial website, several newsletters and mailings, all of it multilingual…!

As always, I’ve tried to develop xHTML/CSS/JS templates that were valid, standards, accessible, and to organize the whole in a rational, flexible, evolutive and durable…

I hope you like the result, I’m impatiently waiting for your comments!

Good evening everyone!

Let me tell you, I am very VERY proud of the reference I’m presenting tonight: the new version of RIVP’s website.

This was a long project, that started in the middle of 2009, to restructure the content and modernize a site which badly needed it (quite ugly, not evolutive, etc…)!

That’s how I had the pleasure of working with the Communication department to adapt the new print guidelines created by the Cartouche agency to the web world.

Then I went on developing the main templates in xHTML/CSS/JS and integrating them in a cleverly ~~tortured~~ modified Dotclear2, mods done by Florent (special lateral navigation, automatic (and reversible) treatment of rounded-corners images on the server side…).

Finally, a lot of time was spent on the content itself in order to make it even more exhaustive, relevant and accessible.
It will also be updated more often, and will soon welcome new contents on which we’re still working (job openings, tenders, etc.)!

At the end, I find the result rather conclusive, I hope you’ll agree!

So, let me invite you, as always, to go visit the new version and to share your opinion!
Who knows, some of you might have even known the previous version and will be better able to compare? :)

Let’s start this year dashingly with Aurore Bourdier’s website new version!

I had the pleasure to front-end develop her layouts (both desktop and iPhone versions), to setup a Dotclear2 for management, as well as to develop and setup an emailing campaign based on her RSS feed (aided by the adequate service from MailChimp)… and of course to be alternatively manager and mother hen :)

In short, lots of things to learn, a few hair to lose ;), and the result is in my opinion is more than convincing!
A powerhouse, I tell you :)

I have more very nice references to come, but it looks like the holidays and snow have not slowed only the postal services… ;)
Be patient, it may be that january and february will (finally) be full of twists!

So yeah, I know, it’s january 8 (already), and this year again you’ll have to make do without a proper greetings card… but, you know how it goes with the baker’s children and all that… :)

That being said, it won’t stop me from heartily wishing you as much happiness as possible, health, love (tons of it), money (just a bit more), in short anything (varied as it may be) you might wish for!

I’ll take advantage of this note to apologize about all those recent comments gone without an answer from me… Apparently the option that warned me by email of each new comment was disabled…
I don’t really know why or how, but the most important thing is that it’s now fixed! I’ll try to answer quickly!

I’ll also try to reappear a bit more steadily on Twitter, and by the way I haven’t stopped collecting links…
So you can expect a rather enormous delivery very soon (and in parallel on unsl.im of course)!

In the meantime, let me invite you to discover Aurore Bourdier, Creative Director, new website. I’ve been working with her often since Nurun and above all she’s been my friend for all those years too (how brave of her! ;) )!

This is the second reference I worked on for Carrefour, and it was about getting people informed about issues of waste (management, recycling, etc) and about Carrefour’s actions in that domain.

Like the previous time, I was pleased to collaborate with Carrefour in creating the graphical design of the pages and then developing them in xHTML/CSS/JS as “cleanly” as possible.

This time on the other hand, I can claim paternity of all the pages, but of course not of the elements of iconography (SERD logo and banners, pictures, videos)! :)

Hello!

I’d like to present you the first of two (and I hope many!) projects done with Carrefour.

So I had the pleasure of adapting the print graphic guidelines from the given brochure, and then developing the static xHTML/CSS/JS pages, as usual with an eye to respecting standards and accessibility, with the restriction that I had to insert my code in a given designated space and that my contribution thus only concerns this central space (a <div> in a <table>, one doesn’t always have control on evertything).
In order to be completely thorough, I’ll even precise that I haven’t produced (design or code) the pages called “souscrire en ligne” and “faq” of this mini-site…

Anyway, it was an opportunity to discover (from far) Mootools, and the team at Carrefour, which is composed of intelligent, respectful and open-minded persons, with whom I’m hoping to have other occasions to work soon! :)
