Here it is, finally, it took some time to come but we wanted to do things the right way: the support presentation for Paris Web 2009 Workshop “Le Kit du parfait petit intégrateur” on SlideShare, workshop that I had the honor and pleasure of presenting with Thierry Régagnon.

It was my first workshop at Paris Web, and I’ll admit not everything was perfect, but I hope those who attended liked it and those who didn’t regretted it at least a tiny bit! ;)

Amongst those little things that got skipped:

  • more demos : in fact, “demos”, period, would have been nice… we had some planned, actually, so mea culpa, but well you know, we trust you to go and test all those things by yourself!! :)
  • talk about code organization itself, and for example of CSS…
    Always list your properties in the same order (ie. box (display, width, position, etc), then colors (border, background, color, etc) and finally fonts), on one ligne (or not), smart commenting, etc…
    I’ll invite you, especially those who didn’t attend the workshop about this (more than a year ago, during a W3Café), to read the article “Architecting CSS”.
  • Ask your opinion about what would be the best format for a checklist of major recommendations (methods, tools) from this workshop… wiki, post updated from comments, other format/support?
    And first of all, would you find that useful? :)

I had also thought about making an English version available, but I wonder whether it would really be that useful… what do YOU think ?

PS : le site sur lequel nous avions basé le déroulé et les démos : 1. date du début 2009, et comme nous tous il y a toujours plein de choses que je ferai différemment avec le recul… 2. je n’ai pas nécessairement la main sur les fichiers pour corriger ce qui devrait l’être… mais je vais voir ce qu’il est possible de faire pour au moins améliorer certains points… à noter qu’en revanche une grosse refonte ou reprise n’est pas prévue pour l’instant)
